Prof. Alberto Moreira is the Director of the Microwaves and Radar Institute at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and a Professor at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), specializing in microwave remote sensing. With over 35 years of experience, they have advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) systems and led the successful TanDEM-X mission, which produced a high-resolution digital elevation model of Earth. Moreira is an IEEE Fellow and has served as President of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society in 2010, authoring more than 500 publications and holding over 45 patents in their field.
