Andreas Gerndt

Andreas Gerndt is a Professor at the University of Bremen, where they have been contributing to the academic community since 2019. Prior to this role, they served as Deputy Director of the Institute at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) from 2013 to 2025 and held positions as a Software Developer and Engineer at various companies, including DIAL GmbH and AEG Systems and Automation. Andreas is also the Head of Department at DLR since 2008 and has experience as a Research Scientist at Fraunhofer IGD and Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise (LITE). They completed their education with a Diploma in Computer Science from Technische Universität Darmstadt, followed by a Dr. rer. nat. at RWTH Aachen University and a postdoctoral role in Interactive Scientific Visualization at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
