Andreas Hänsel

Andreas Hänsel is a physicist at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), where they specialize in testing and verification of payloads for space, with a particular focus on optical technologies. Their academic journey includes a Master’s degree in Physics from Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena and a PhD from Delft University of Technology, where their research concentrated on experimental optics. Prior to their role at DLR, Andreas worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Aarhus University, exploring the industrial applications of photonic integrated circuits. They began their research career as a research assistant at Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, simulating nonlinear plasmonic resonators.
