Bimba Hoyer

Bimba Hoyer serves as an Aeromedical Examiner and Flight Surgeon at Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V. since January 2024 and has been a Professor for Rheumatology and Immunology at Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel since February 2018. Prior roles include Head of Rheumatology at Universitätsklinikum Schleswig-Holstein from November 2017 to January 2024 and Specialist in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology at Charité from 2004 to October 2017. Bimba Hoyer has also contributed as a Scientist at Deutsches Rheumaforschungs-Zentrum Berlin from 2002 to 2018, with a brief tenure as a Visiting Researcher at Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research in early 2007. Academic qualifications include a degree in Medicine from Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, Approbation in Medicine from Charité Universitätsmedizin, and Habilitation in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, alongside participation in an Erasmus Exchange at Université de Rennes. Early experience includes an internship at Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V. in 1998.
