Jens Heider

Jens Heider currently serves as a Language Proficiency Assessor and Research Test Pilot at Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V. since May 2009, leading the Flight Operations Group at the DLR flight research facility Braunschweig since 2016. Prior experience includes roles as First Officer and Captain at Niki Luftfahrt GmbH from January 2011 to December 2017, participating as a Guest Pilot in production flight tests for Airbus A320 family aircraft since December 2016. Jens has also worked as a Class Rating Instructor for Dornier Do228 at Simtec Systems and operated as a Freelance Captain for the A320 family with Lufthansa Technik until December 2023. Jens's educational background includes an ATPL(A) from Lufthansa Flight Training, a Master of Science in Flight Test Engineering from the National Test Pilot School, and a Diplom Ingenieur from The Bremen University of Applied Sciences, among other qualifications in aviation and flight test engineering.
