Olaf Heilmayer

Olaf Heilmayer is currently the Abteilungsleiter at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), where they focus on cooperation with EU third countries and international organizations. Previously, they served as Head of Unit at the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt from 2010 to 2018 and held various positions including Research Fellow at the Alfred Wegener Institute and Scientific Officer at IsiTEC GmbH. Olaf earned a Dr. rer. nat. from the University of Bremen, completing their degree in 2003. Their extensive background includes roles as a Senior Scientific Officer and a Marie Curie Fellow at the National Oceanography Centre.
