Sandro Martinis

Head of Research Group Natural Hazards

Sandro Martinis is the Head of Research Group for Natural Hazards at DLR, where they lead a team focused on the development of processing chains for crisis-related information extraction from remote sensing data in the context of natural disasters. With extensive experience in project management and coordination, Sandro has been involved in DLR’s contributions to the International Charter "Space and Major Disasters" and has conducted significant work on satellite data acquisition and analysis for humanitarian relief and civil security. They hold a degree in Physical Geography, Remote Sensing, and Physics from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and have previously worked as a research scientist at both LMU Munich and DLR.
