Vice Director Of Institute For Test And Simulation For Gas Turbines at German Aerospace Center (DLR)

Stefan Reh serves as Vice Director of the Institute for Test and Simulation for Gas Turbines at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), a position held since September 2007, and also as Founding Director of the institute. Research focuses include areas such as the Virtual Engine Platform, digital twin development, multiphysics modeling, and lifetime assessment of materials. Additionally, Stefan Reh holds the role of Vice Director at the Institute of Materials Research, with emphasis on material development and numerical assessment methods for high-temperature metallics and ceramics. Concurrently, Reh is a Professor at RWTH Aachen University. Previous experience includes roles as Senior Software Engineer at ANSYS, Inc., Adjunct Professor at Carnegie Mellon University, Group Lead in Probabilistic Design at ABB Power Generation, and Researcher at the Nuclear Research Center Karlsruhe. Reh obtained a Master’s Degree in Structural and Reliability Engineering from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) between 1983 and 1989.
