Uwe Riedel

Director, Institute of Low-Carbon Industrial Processes

Uwe Riedel is a scientist with over 30 years of experience in energy research, specializing in modeling and simulation, reaction kinetics, reactive flows, combustion, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). They served as a Research Scientist and Assistant Professor at Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg from 1995 to 2008, before becoming a Professor at Universität Stuttgart from 2008 to 2021. Currently, Uwe holds the position of Professor and Chair of Low-Carbon Industrial Processes at Brandenburgische Technische Universität Cottbus-Senftenberg. In 2019, they were appointed as the Director of the Institute of Low-Carbon Industrial Processes at the German Aerospace Center (DLR). Uwe earned a PhD in Physics and has a robust academic background, including habilitation in Physical Chemistry and a Diploma in Physics from Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg.
