Uwe Schulz is currently the Department Head of High Temperature and Functional Coatings at DLR, Institute of Materials Research, a position they have held since 2012. They previously served as a Scientist at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) from 1991 to 2011 and worked as a Visiting Scientist at UC Santa Barbara in 2001. In addition, Schulz has been an Honorary Professor at TU Dresden since 2016. They are pursuing a Dr.-Ing. degree at TU Bergakademie Freiberg, which they began in 1995.
