Award-winning Costs Draftsmen
DMD Costs is a specialist legal costs drafting partner for claimant solicitor firms across England and Wales. We work B2B only, focusing exclusively on standard basis (non-FRC) costs. We do not act for lay clients and we do not provide advocacy.

Our role is simple: we produce costs documents that settle quickly, protect your margin, and are fit for detailed assessment if required.

What we do for solicitors:
•	Bills and e-bills (Precedent S): clear, persuasive narratives with clean phase structure and DA-ready presentation.
•	Points of Dispute and Replies: CPR-grounded drafting that answers the real issues and moves the numbers.
•	Budgets and budget management: Precedent H built on realistic assumptions, Precedent R to frame the CCMC, and Precedent T when scope shifts.
•	Interim and costs-only work: N260s for applications and CPR 46.14 costs-only packs where costs are the only dispute.
•	Negotiation to settlement: staged offer strategy, settlement wording, and timetable control to keep matters moving.

Where we’re strongest:
•	Housing Disrepair (HDR): disrepair-heavy files, vulnerability and access issues, and proportionality-proofing from the start.
•	MoD NIHL: military hearing loss claims where the matrix drives damages, but costs remain standard basis; strong disease-phasing and disclosure/expert mapping.
•	Also: PI, industrial disease, clinical negligence and credit hire — where standard basis costs are in play.

Why firms instruct DMD:
Firms come to us for faster agreements, fewer global cuts, higher net recovery, and cleaner cash flow — while their fee earners stay focused on litigation and client care.

Standard basis only. B2B only. No advocacy.
