It was in the year of 1994 where Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad started the idea to have second national car project after the successful of Proton in 1983. In line with "Look East Policy" idealism by Tun Dr. Mahatir at that time, Daihatsu products becoming the best preferred choice because it is appropriate to have small and compact car or on the other hand Kei-car segment as it in Japan. The idea accelerate bringing Kei-Car segment as a beginning platform for the next Malaysia second car project.

The dream became one step closer when Y.Bhg Dato' Abdul Rahim Abdul Halim together with his most reliable partner Tan Sri Ahmad Azizzuddin, Dato' Yap Lim Sin and Mr. Wong Leng Thien established DMM Sales Sdn Bhd. The words DMM incur as Daihatsu Mitsui Medbumikamara collateral with the earlier idea of having Daihatsu products.

A year later by 20th January 1995, DMM Sales Sdn. Bhd was incorporated under the subsidiary of Daihatsu (M) Sdn. Bhd. This mega-project using its own personal code and "M2" has been selected. Be in one's glory, this code still using until today as DMM Sales Sdn. Bhd headquarters name at Shah Alam.

Ensconce under Daihatsu (M) Sdn. Bhd, currently DMMS holds 10% of Perodua's share and up-to-date DMM Sales Sdn. Bhd cited as "The Largest Perodua Dealer In Malaysia. Currently DMMS have possession of 17 Sales outlets throughout Malaysia and 14 After Sales outlets. To further cemented our success, currently more than 300 man power handily to cater the needs of our valued customers.
