CEO Energy at DNV GL

Ditlev Engel is the CEO of Energy at DNV GL. Ditlev has over 20 years of experience in the energy industry, with a focus on smart grids, smart metering, SCADA EMS/DMS systems, tele- and data communication infrastructures and cyber security.

Engel started their career as a stagiair at Rijn ijssel college in 1997. Ditlev then spent 15 years at DNV KEMA Energy & Sustainability, where they eventually became Director of Intelligent Networks and Communications. In this role, they were responsible for strategy, business development and P&L of the INC department.

In 2013, Engel left DNV KEMA to join DNV GL as CEO of Energy. In this role, they are responsible for the company’s overall energy business, including strategy, business development and P&L. Under their leadership, DNV GL has become a leading provider of energy services and solutions.

Ditlev Engel is a corporate executive who has studied at some of the world's leading business and engineering schools. Ditlev has a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering and telecommunications from HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (Hogeschool Utrecht) and has also completed INSEAD's Leading Digital Transformation program and TSM Business School's Integral Management Program.

They are on a team with Ulrike Haugen - Chief Communications Officer, Kenneth Vareide - CEO, Digital Solutions, and Knut Ørbeck-nilssen - CEO, Maritime. Their manager is Remi Eriksen, Group President, CEO.
