Ridhvik Gopal

Ridhvik Gopal serves as the Team Lead for Energy Storage Safety and a Senior Consultant at DNV, overseeing technical due diligence projects for grid-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and contributing to safety and technology initiatives. Prior to DNV, Ridhvik worked at Northvolt as a Mechanical Engineer, focusing on thermal runaway detection and fire suppression technologies, and was involved in the development of battery modules. Ridhvik's experience includes a role as a Senior Associate Engineer at Caterpillar Inc., where collaboration on utility-scale Li-ion Battery Energy Storage Systems took place, and earlier positions at Ecolibrium Solar, Cocoa Electronics, and the University of Colorado Boulder with an emphasis on mechanical engineering and product development. Ridhvik holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder.
