Tim Illson

Tim Illson is a Senior Principal Specialist at DNV, specializing in corrosion control for both new build and re-purposed hydrogen and CCUS pipelines. Tim has extensive experience in corrosion and integrity management for energy transition assets, including offshore wind and solar PV. Their technical expertise encompasses hydrogen effects on pipeline materials, the repurposing of natural gas networks for hydrogen, and the development of corrosion management programs. Tim’s career includes prior roles as a Corrosion Engineer at CEGB and Senior Corrosion Consultant at GL Noble Denton, as well as various specialist positions at DNV GL. Tim holds a BSc and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Warwick.
