Walter Schaefer

Walter Schaefer is an energy engineer with extensive experience in transportation electrification, distributed energy resources, and grid operations. They currently serve as the Director of Energy Strategy at DNV, guiding states and utilities in navigating the electrification landscape. Walter previously held positions at Energy and Resource Solutions and Argonne National Laboratory, where they contributed to innovative energy management projects and sustainable solutions. They hold a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, both from Cornell University. In addition to their professional pursuits, Walter enjoys soccer, climbing, biking, reading, urbanism, and music.
