Ed Khan has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering. Ed started their career working as a Regional Power Systems Engineer at Westinghouse Engineering Services from June 1980 to January 1985. Ed then worked as a Power System Engineer at Electro-Test from February 1985 to September 1989. Following this, they joined General Electric Power Systems Division as a Consulting Engineer from September 1989 to June 1999, where they performed extensive studies in the areas of protection, transient stability, load flow, short circuit, harmonics, and conceptual design. Ed also taught a Protective Relaying course as part of GE's course offering. Ed then worked as a Product Engineer at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories from July 1999 to April 2001. After that, they joined ABB as a Principal Consulting Engineer from May 2001 to 2003. During this time, they provided consulting services in the field of engineering. In 2003, they started working at KEMA as a Senior Principal Consultant and Team Leader for Protection Group. Ed led protection-related projects and worked on various business and process improvement projects. Additionally, they worked on projects for PG&E and TVA and performed EMPTP analysis for two European customers. From August 2006 to January 2012, they served as a Solutions Manager-Protection at Doble Engineering, where they managed solutions related to protection. Ed's most recent role is as the Director of Protection Training and R&D at Doble Engineering Company, which they began in January 2014.

Ed Khan obtained a Master's degree in Power Systems from Texas A&M University between 1978 and 1980.
