Robert Nevin has extensive work experience in the field of software quality assurance and electrical engineering. Robert started their career at Digital Equipment Corporation as a Senior Materials Science Engineer, where they improved product quality by finding defects in the manufacturing process. Robert then moved on to Quantum Technologies, where they served as a Senior New Product Introduction Engineer, developing disk drive products from prototype to volume manufacturing and testing prototypes for failures.
Following this, Nevin joined Stratus Technologies as a Principal Hardware Engineer, where they designed and tested fault-tolerant computer systems. Robert also worked as a Team Lead-Software/Hardware QA Engineer at Sun Microsystems, testing software and hardware for Intel-based servers and workstations. Robert supervised firmware development teams and ensured bug fixes and enhancements.
Later, Nevin worked as an Electrical Engineer at Reveal Imaging, where they provided technical leadership for computer manufacturing/repair and sourcing for X-Ray explosives detection systems. Robert successfully improved the mean time between failures (MTBF) of computer systems and led efforts in manufacturing and repair areas.
Nevin then joined Extreme Networks as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer/Hardware Acceptance Group member. Robert conducted software and hardware integration testing for new products and verified the compatibility of new software releases with existing products. Currently, they are working on Salem-developed Extreme EXOS hardware products and introducing new security and energy-saving features.
Robert'smost recent position is as Principal SQA Engineer at Doble Engineering Company, where they have been extensively involved in the software/hardware interaction for electrical test products for the Electric Utility Industry. Robert has played a crucial role in the development of an electrical utility protection test product from prototype development to production release. Nevin has also worked closely with development and customer support teams to address and resolve issues throughout the design and product introduction process.
Robert Nevin started their education at New Hartford High School. After completing high school, they went to Cornell University, where they studied Electrical Engineering and Materials Science from an unknown start year to 1986. Robert earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in this field. Following their undergraduate studies, Robert then attended Princeton University from 1986 to 1987 and obtained a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSE).
