Erik Gutwasser

Erik Gutwasser is a seasoned professional in the payments industry, currently serving as the President of Northern Europe at Mastercard since June 2015. Under Erik Gutwasser's leadership, the Northern Europe Division was established, uniting advanced payment societies across the Nordics, Baltics, and the Netherlands. Prior roles include Division President and Head of Nordics and Baltics, focusing on strategy execution, P&L management, and customer relations to enhance Mastercard's market presence. Erik Gutwasser also holds a board position at Doconomy and previously led Mastercard Advisors' Nordics and Baltics operations. Earlier experience includes senior roles at Booz & Company and Booz Allen Hamilton, along with an apprenticeship at Robert Bosch. Erik Gutwasser holds a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Linköping University and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Technology Sydney.
