At Dog Principal, we believe every dog has the potential for transformation—and we’re committed to unlocking that potential through expert, customized in-home dog training across Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.

My journey began with my own Australian Shepherd, Opie. His behavioral challenges inspired a passion that led me to formal training at Tarheel Canine, one of the top dog training schools in the country. Armed with a foundation in obedience, reactivity, and behavior modification, I launched Dog Principal in June 2024 with a mission to help families build stronger, more harmonious relationships with their dogs.

Based in the DMV, Dog Principal offers private in-home hourly sessions designed for busy families across Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia, and Maryland. We address everything from leash reactivity and aggression to separation anxiety and basic obedience—all within your home and neighborhood, where the behavior happens. Every session is tailored to your dog’s personality and your goals to ensure practical, lasting change.

For clients outside the metro area, we also offer a concierge training service—bringing high-level dog training directly to homes within a 400-mile radius. This elite service is ideal for families seeking flexible scheduling, focused results, and expert guidance delivered at their convenience.

At Dog Principal, we go beyond obedience. Our goal is lasting behavioral change, stronger trust, and real confidence—for both dogs and their humans. Whether you’re dealing with reactivity, fear, or simply want a better-behaved companion, we’re here to help.

If you’re searching for a trusted dog trainer near you in Washington, D.C., Maryland, or Virginia—let’s connect. Together, we’ll create a more balanced, peaceful life for you and your dog.
