Christopher McDevitt

Christopher McDevitt serves as the Head of Research for the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Melbourne since July 2018, overseeing strategic planning for research initiatives. Additionally, Christopher holds the position of Theme Leader for Bacterial and Parasitic Infections at the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity, focusing on enhancing collaboration and elevating the institute's reputation. Christopher previously contributed to the University of Adelaide as an Associate Professor and Group Leader of the Chemical Biology of Bacterial Pathogens Laboratory, where research aimed to combat antimicrobial resistance. Christopher's earlier roles include significant contributions at SAHMRI, the Australian Centre for Antimicrobial Resistance Ecology, and a comprehensive postdoctoral tenure at the University of Oxford.
