Dave Alves

Dave Alves is a seasoned Loss Prevention professional with over 23 years of extensive experience in large retail chain stores, department stores, drug stores, distribution centers, and corporate-level Loss Prevention. Alves began a career in Loss Prevention at Limited Brands from February 1997 to March 2008, where the role included overall responsibility for Loss Prevention. Following this, Alves served as Director of Loss Prevention for Victoria's Secret at Limited Brands from March 2008 to May 2011, and subsequently held similar positions at Golf Galaxy and Thorntons. From February 2016 to February 2019, Alves worked as Area Asset Protection Leader at Big Lots Stores, focusing on shrink mitigation and safety programs. Currently, Alves holds the position of Regional Asset Protection Manager at Dollar General since January 2025. Alves earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Western Illinois University between 1981 and 1985.
