Chris Riser has extensive work experience in the legal and tax industries. Chris started their career as a Sergeant in the US Army from 1987 to 1991. After leaving the military, Chris worked as a Member at Mayer & Riser PLLC from 1997 to 2001. Chris then established their own law firm, The Riser Law Firm PLLC, where they served as a Member from 2002 to 2004. In 2005, Chris joined Riser Adkisson LLP as a Partner, a role they held until 2018. During their time at Riser Adkisson LLP, Chris also worked concurrently as a Director at Dominion from 2018 to 2020. In July 2020, they were promoted to the position of Group International Tax Director at Dominion.
Chris Riser has a J.D. degree in Law from the University of North Carolina School of Law, which they obtained from 1994 to 1997. Chris also holds an LL.M. degree in Estate Planning from the University of Miami School of Law, which they earned from 1997 to 1998. Prior to that, they completed an M.A. in Slavic Linguistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1992 to 1994, and an A.B. in Russian from the same institution from 1991 to 1992. Chris attended the University of Maryland from 1984 to 1986, without completing a degree.
