Ellen Shultz

Ellen Shultz, Chief Human Resources Officer at Dotdash Meredith, is an HR executive with expertise in global organizations undergoing digital transformation. Ellen was previously the Chief People Officer of Rent the Runway and served as Executive Vice President of Talent and Inclusion (HR) at The New York Times Company from June 2016 to August 2020, leading teams in the US, Europe and Asia, where she provided guidance to the CEO and Executive Editor and had operational and strategic oversight of the global HR function.

From 2015-2016, Ellen served as Vice President and Head of Human Resources at Media General, a broadcast and digital conglomerate. Before that, Ellen worked for 15 years at Time Inc., serving in successively senior roles beginning in recruiting.

She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from The Catholic University of America. In 2017, she was awarded an Alumni Achievement Award for excellence in her field. Ellen also sat on the Board of Directors and nominating committee for the Emma Bowen Foundation, an organization helping to build a more diverse media industry. Ellen lives in Manhattan with her husband and son.
