Tom Ran

Tom Ran is a seasoned design professional with extensive experience in various creative roles. Currently serving as Design Director and Art Director at Dotdash Meredith since July 2019, Tom has also held significant positions such as Editor-in-Chief and Creative Director for The Scout, an influential online arts and culture guide since 2008. As a Creative Director at Friend & Stranger, Tom collaborates with diverse clients in fashion and hospitality. Previously, Tom contributed to Barnes & Noble, Inc. as an Art Director/Product Design Lead, and has also worked as a consultant for J.Crew and as a Senior Designer at MTV Networks. With early career positions that include designing for Nettmedia and Organic Online, Tom’s foundational skills were developed at the Academy of Art University, where a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Computer Arts was earned.
