Brian Lee is the current Chief Operating Officer at Dotmatics, a position they have held since October 2019. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Product Officer - Student Brands at Barnes & Noble Education, Inc. from October 2015 to October 2019. There, they led strategy, roadmap, forecasting, product management, SEO and design at Student Brands, a writing technology company acquired by Barnes & Noble Education in 2017.
From April 2011 to October 2015, Brian served as the Head of Consumer Experience at Savings.com, a leading online coupon destination which sources and delivers the best deals around. At Savings.com, they oversaw product development, creative, and SEO. The company was acquired in 2012 by Valpak, the direct mail coupons company owned by Cox Enterprises. Brian also incubated Favado, an award winning grocery savings app during their time at Savings.com.
Prior to their time at Savings.com, Brian served as the Head of Product Management at BabyCenter from February 2007 to March 2011. Brian then served as the Director of Mobile Product & Marketing at Working Assets from August 2001 to January 2007. Brian began their career as a Technical Project Manager at TechTV from August 2000 to July 2001 before becoming an Operations Manager at more.com from March 1999 to June 2000.
Brian Lee received their BA in Applied Math in Economics from Harvard University. Brian then went on to earn their MBA from the University of California, Berkeley's Haas School of Business. After working in the corporate world for a few years, Brian decided to change careers and enrolled at the California Culinary Academy to study cooking.
They are on a team with Kalim Saliba - Chief Product Officer, Will Stokes - Chief Software Architect, SnapGene, and Daniel Ayala - Chief Security & Trust Officer. Their manager is Thomas Swalla, CEO & Board Director.
