Senior Software Engineer at Dovetail

Jack Lian is a Senior Software Engineer at Dovetail. Prior to joining Dovetail, Jack spent four and a half years at SafetyCulture, where they served as Technical Lead. In this role, Jack was responsible for leading a team of engineers to develop new features for the main Freelancer App, including browse projects, browse freelancers, newsfeed, login screens and many more. Jack also worked on the Android app redesign and refactored the app to use MVP pattern.

Before SafetyCulture, Jack worked as a Software Engineer at Freelancer.com and NICTA. At Freelancer.com, Jack worked in an agile environment with the Mobile team's Product Manager, Designers and Tester. Jack used Kotlin and Java to develop new features for the main Freelancer App. At NICTA, Jack researched on matching algorithms, devised new algorithms and measured the performance of existing matching algorithms.

Prior to their career in software engineering, Jack served as a Supply Supervisor in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) for two years.

Jack Lian completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a focus in Artificial Intelligence from UNSW. Jack also holds a Diploma in Game and Entertainment Technology from Temasek Polytechnic, as well as a GCE Cambridge 'O' Level Certificate from Ping Yi Secondary School. In addition, Jack has a certification from Coursera in Model Thinking.

Jack Lian reports to Chris Manouvrier, Principal Engineer. Jack Lian works with Anna Zhirnova - Software Engineer, Nathan Miller - DevOps Engineer, and David Richard - Senior Software Engineer.
