Gretchen Baier has extensive experience in the chemical engineering field, currently serving as the Executive External Strategy and Communications Leader at Dow since 1999. Throughout her tenure at Dow, Baier has held various positions including Associate R&D Director for External Technology, Applications and Options Development in the Ventures Organization, and Senior Engineer in the Separations Skill Center and Process Development. Prior to Dow, Baier worked as a Chemical Engineer in Major Projects and Controls Systems Engineering at Shell from 1991 to 1994, and as a Technical Service and Development Engineer at Dow Corning from 1987 to 1991. Baier earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison between 1994 and 1999, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1983 to 1987.
