Pavan Valavala has been with The Dow Chemical Company since December 2011, specializing in mechanical design and finite element modeling for various Dow businesses. Notable achievements include contributions to the award-winning Tequatic™ Plus project and the redesign of the USA Luge, which earned a bronze medal at the 2014 Sochi Olympics. Pavan was recognized as the 2016 Young Engineer of the Year by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) South Texas section. Prior to their tenure at Dow, Pavan served as a postdoctoral fellow at Northwestern University and Johns Hopkins University and holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and a master’s in Physics from Michigan Tech.
