Willem Degroot is a retired scientist who concluded a 33-year career at the Dow Chemical Company on August 31, 2019. At Dow, they specialized in polymer characterization, particularly utilizing GPC techniques, and focused on informatics, digitization, LIMS, and structure-property modeling. Willem has also served as the 2015 Conference Chair for the International Symposium on Polymer Analysis and Characterization (ISPAC) since 2014. They earned a PhD in Fiber and Polymer Science from North Carolina State University and a BS in Chemistry from High Point University.
