Clem Powell

Clem Powell has extensive experience in the field of chemistry and utilities coordination, currently serving as a Utilities Coordinator at Downer since October 2018. Previously, Clem worked as a Chemist/Operator and Chemist at Bechtel Oil, Gas, & Chemicals and Kiewit Ertech Joint Venture respectively, where notable achievements included receiving two Reward and Recognition Awards for contributions to compliance risk understanding and operational safety. Clem has expertise in laboratory management, water testing, and wastewater optimization, with a strong background in research from roles as a Research Scientist at Memcor, Siemens Water Technologies, and as a Research Fellow at The University of Melbourne. Clem holds a PhD in Chemistry from The Australian National University, a Graduate Diploma in Extractive Metallurgy from Murdoch University, and a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from Massey University, New Zealand.
