Kostas Manolis is a Partner and Head of Unquoted Investments at Downing. Kostas has over 15 years of experience in private equity and corporate finance.

Manolis began their career at PwC as a Manager in Corporate Finance. Kostas advised private equity houses and management teams on private equity transactions in the UK and Europe. In 2006, they joined Bank of Scotland as an Associate Director in Integrated Finance. There, they originated, executed, and managed integrated (debt and equity) investments in UK MBOs.

In 2010, Manolis left Bank of Scotland to join Caird Capital as a Director. At Caird, they were a member of a team managing the Cavendish Square Partners private equity fund, responsible for a number of investments and actively involved at board level (in some cases as a non-executive director) to protect/maximise value and manage the exit process.

Manolis has been with Downing since 2015, where they are Partner and Head of Unquoted Investments. In this role, they are responsible for leading Downing’s unquoted investments, which includes management buyouts, growth capital, and later stage investments.

Kostas Manolis studied ACA at ICAEW before going on to study for a PhD in Molecular Genetics at the University of Sussex. Kostas then completed a degree in Biochemistry at the same university.
