Downright Excellent (registered charity no.1120863) has been working for over 16 years in and around London, providing expert interventions, support and guidance to children and young people with Down syndrome, their parents/carers and wider family network, as well as professionals who support children with Down syndrome. We have paved the way for new therapies to be applied, empowering children to learn crucial communication, social and life skills. 

As a result of our support, children are able to better communicate their needs and be understood, meet key development milestones, and exceed their expected potential. The earlier and longer we can intervene, the greater the child’s chances of fully achieving their potential. 

Families are better able to support their child’s unique needs and navigate often complex social, financial and medical systems to get the support they need.

Our interventions with professionals, particularly in schools, means that teachers and support staff better understand the profile of children with Down syndrome and how to meet their needs in an educational and clinical environment, for everyone’s benefit.
