Amit Phull has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. In 2003, they served as an Academic Associate at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. Amit then worked as a Chief Technical Officer at PocketMed, LLC from 2007 to 2009. From 2014 to 2015, Amit worked as a Consultant at Bain & Company before becoming a self-employed consultant, programmer, and web designer from 2005 to 2013.

Amit Phull then transitioned into the medical field, starting in 2013. Amit served as a Faculty member in Emergency Medicine at Northwestern University - The Feinberg School of Medicine and simultaneously worked as an Attending Physician in Emergency Medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. In 2015, they joined the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Hospital as a Staff Physician in Emergency Medicine.

In 2014, Amit took on strategic roles at Doximity, starting as a Director of Medical Content from 2014 to 2017. Amit then became the Vice President of Strategy & Insights until 2021 and was concurrently the Medical Director from 2017 onwards. Finally, they served as the Senior Vice President of Strategy until the present.

Amit Phull began their education in 2000 at the University of Virginia, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Amit successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 2004. Amit then continued their education at the same institution and entered the University of Virginia's School of Medicine, where they earned their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree between 2004 and 2009. After graduating, Amit Phull pursued their passion for emergency medicine and enrolled in the Residency Training in Emergency Medicine program at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. Amit completed their residency training in Emergency Medicine in 2013, further specializing in this field.
