John McGroarty

John McGroarty has a strong background in various industries and roles. In 1989, they started their career in the Irish Naval Service as a Hull Technician, where they gained experience in maintenance, operation, and supervision. John also served as an Emergency Medical Technician at Cara Ambulance Service in 2009. From 2012 to 2014, they worked as a Maritime Security Consultant, specializing in team leadership and medic roles. In 2014, they joined Copius Energy as a Rigger. John also gained experience as a student nurse at UCC from 2016 to 2019. Currently, they are working as a Logistics Team Lead at DPS Group Global.

John McGroarty attended the Army Apprentice School from 1989 to 1991, where they earned a Trade Certificate in Building Technology and Carpentry/Joinery with a focus on Combat Engineering. John also completed Riggers stage 3 and gained expertise in Banksman and Slinger while at Effective Offshore. In addition, they studied Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Damage Control Qualified (CBRNDCQ) at the Royal Naval Warfare School in Whale Island, UK in 2008. John furthered their education in Combat Engineering at the Corps of Engineers in the Irish Army and attended Cobh Community College.
