Michael de Beer

Michael de Beer is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in control and instrumentation across multiple high-profile companies. Currently serving as a Senior Control and Instrumentation Engineer at DRA Global since November 2021, Michael previously held various engineering and management positions at GE from January 2016 to November 2021, where responsibilities included leading commissioning efforts for significant projects like Africa's first Wet Flue Gas Desulphurisation (WFGD). Michael's earlier experience includes roles at Alstom Power, contributing to engineering support and design on major international projects, and Evraz Highveld Steel and Vanadium, focusing on programmable logic controllers and control systems. Michael holds a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, a Bachelor of Commerce, and is currently pursuing an Honours in Engineering and Technology Management at the University of Pretoria.
