Mark Coker

Mark Coker has had a long and varied career in the technology industry. Mark began their career in 1987 as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Coker Electronics, a garage startup founded by their father. In 1991, they moved to Neale-May and Partners as a Sr. Associate. In 1997, they founded BestCalls.com, an online directory of earnings conference calls. In 2007, they began writing for VentureBeat, a Silicon Valley business blog. In 2009, they became a Contributing Writer for The Huffington Post. In 2008, they founded and became CEO of Smashwords, the leading ebook publishing and distribution platform. Most recently, in 2022, they became Chief Strategy Officer at Draft2Digital.

Mark Coker attended the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business from 1983 to 1988, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing.
