Fred Stakem

Fred Stakem is a highly experienced data science and software engineering professional, currently serving as a Senior Lead Data Science Engineer at DraftKings Inc. since April 2021. In this role, Fred manages a small team of developers, focusing on the design of internal machine learning software libraries and implementing agile software processes. Prior to DraftKings, Fred held key positions including Principal Engineer at SeaTec Consulting Inc., where a custom Python hybrid cloud simulator was developed for a major airline, and Data Engineer at Honeywell, contributing to the Sentience Edge IOT data analytics platform. Fred's earlier experience spans various engineering roles at companies such as Tripwire, Medlytix LLC, Cognizant Technology Solutions, and Cisco Systems, showcasing a strong foundation in Python, software development, and ETL processes. Fred holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.
