Rizwan Awan

Rizwan Awan, CFA, currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Platform Architect for Trading & Risk at DraftKings Inc., a role assumed in August 2025. Prior to this position, Rizwan was President of Equities Trading and Head of TMX Markets, Products & Services at TMX Group from 2020 to 2025, overseeing key equity trading markets in Canada and managing significant revenue streams. Rizwan also held various leadership roles at BMO Capital Markets from 2005 to 2020, including Managing Director for Quantitative Execution Services, where innovative trading strategies were implemented to generate substantial revenues. Earlier career positions included Trading Strategist at ITG and Systems Architect at BMO Nesbitt Burns. Rizwan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with Honours in Computer Science and Software Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
