Jan Hoff

Jan Hoff has a strong background in information security and cyber security, with diverse roles in various companies and educational institutions. Jan is currently working as a Principal Industrial Incident Responder at Dragos, Inc. since October 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Lecturer in Digital Forensics and Wargaming at Leibniz-Fachhochschule starting from July 2021. Jan also held a position as a Program Chair at SECURITY UNTER KONTROLLE from May 2021 to May 2023. Before their current roles, they worked as a Senior Expert Penetration Testing (IT/OT) at E.ON Digital Technology from January 2021 to October 2022. Jan's work experience also includes roles such as Computer Security Incident Response Team member and Forensics & Penetration Testing expert at innogy SE from September 2016 to December 2020, and at RWE from October 2015 to December 2018, respectively. Jan worked as an Assistant Manager - Information Security/Cyber Security at KPMG Deutschland from February 2013 to September 2015. In addition, Jan was a Consultant in Information Security at BTC - Business Technology Consulting AG from July 2009 to January 2013. Jan also gained experience as a Trainee and working student at EWE AG from July 2006 to July 2009. Jan Hoff has also shared their knowledge as a Guest Lecturer in Information Security at Berufsakademie für IT und Wirtschaft Oldenburg.

Jan Hoff completed their education at various institutions and obtained several certifications. They pursued a Master of Science in Practical Computer Science at FernUniversität in Hagen from 2018 to 2021. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Informatics from Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg in 2010-2010 and a degree in Wirtschaftsinformatiker in Business Informatics from Berufsakademie für IT und Wirtschaft Oldenburg from 2006 to 2009. They also acquired numerous certifications in the field of information security and forensics, including Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA), Certified Protection Officer, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Security Analyst - E|CSA, Licensed Penetration Tester - L|PT, Certified Ethical Hacker - C|EH, and GIAC Network Forensic Analyst (GNFA).
