Andrew Whitehead

Andrew Whitehead is a Senior Member of Technical Staff at Draper, leading mechanical teams in harsh environment avionics and sensor system development since January 2023. Previously, Andrew contributed to MIT Lincoln Laboratory from October 2016 to January 2023 as a subcontractor in the Rapid Prototyping Group, where achievements included engineering leadership on multi-aircraft flight test campaigns and mechanical qualification of equipment structures. In the Energy Systems Engineering Group, Andrew refined simulation tools in Matlab and conducted assessments of military energy infrastructure. Prior experience includes work as a Mechanical Engineer at NBD Nanotechnologies, developing advanced surface coatings, and as an Engineering Intern at Tufts Center for Engineering Education and Outreach, focusing on robotic systems in education. Andrew holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University, awarded in 2014.
