Chad Lampton

Chad Lampton is a highly experienced mechanical design engineer currently serving as Principal Mechanical Design Engineer at Draper since January 2024. Prior to this role, Chad spent nearly a decade at Sun Hydraulics, holding positions including Engineering Manager for Electronics, Lead Engineer for New Product Development, and Senior Design Engineer, where responsibilities included leading teams to design and develop innovative products, particularly in solenoid valves and embedded electronics. Earlier experience at Sun Hydraulics as a Product Engineer involved supporting production products and providing customer technical support, alongside an internship focused on developing electronics lab demonstrations. Chad's professional journey began with an internship at Meritor, where procedural updates were made for safety protocols. Chad earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Mechatronics Engineering from North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina Asheville from 2005 to 2010.
