Jon Vargas is an emerging aerospace engineer pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering at the University at Buffalo, expected to graduate in May 2025. Currently serving as a GNC Engineer MTS1 at Draper since January 2024, Jon develops modeling and simulation tools for Strategic System GN&C concepts. Previous roles include GNC Engineer at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, GN&C/ADCS Engineer at the University at Buffalo Nanosatellite Laboratory, and Micro-G NExT Manufacturing and Software Engineer with the AIAA Student Chapter at SUNY Buffalo. Experience also includes a position as a Mechanical Engineer with the NYC Department of Environmental Protection from May to August 2023.
