Joy Perkinson, Ph.D., currently serves as the Group Lead for Materials Science and Chemistry and a Senior Member of the Technical Staff at Draper since September 2017. Prior to this role, Joy was a Research Associate at Harvard University from August 2010 to July 2017, where research focused on nanopattern self-organization under ion bombardment, building on doctoral studies in applied physics. Joy also contributed as a Teaching Assistant at MIT in 2010 and held positions as a Research Assistant during undergraduate studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2005 to 2009. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. and a Master of Science in Applied Physics from Harvard University, a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from MIT, and currently pursuing a Master of Science in Engineering Management at the Tufts University Gordon Institute.
