Mark Schafer

Mark Schafer is an accomplished Electronics Hardware Design Engineer at Draper since July 2022, bringing a strong foundation in research and development. Prior to this role, Mark completed a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering at Lehigh University, where extensive experience was gained in graduate research focused on differentiating hiPSC into neurons. Responsibilities included investigating neuronal interactions and mastering a range of laboratory protocols. As a Teaching Assistant, Mark played a pivotal role in revamping an undergraduate engineering course on programming. Previous internships include valuable contributions to Bristol Myers Squibb in translational medicine and TE Connectivity in embedded systems, where innovative projects were executed, including the development of a catheter sensor and data collection software. Mark also served as Assistant Technical Director at Princeton Summer Theater, designing electronic devices for theatrical effects, showcasing creativity and technical expertise.
