Omar Awad is a Space Navigation Engineer and Senior Member of the Technical Staff at Draper, where responsibilities include supporting navigation algorithm development and conducting analysis for various programs, notably NASA's Artemis 2 and the MAGNAV initiative for navigating GPS-denied environments. As a Draper Scholar, Omar is involved in research on GPS-denied navigation systems in collaboration with Purdue University's Oguri Research Group. Previously, Omar served as a Nanosatellite Engineer and Research Assistant at the USF Institute of Applied Engineering, focusing on mechanical design and control of nanosatellites, and worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of South Florida. Omar holds a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from Purdue University and a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Florida.
