Peter Ryan is an experienced engineer currently working at Draper since October 2023. Prior to this role, Peter served as a Nano Photonics Engineer at Mesodyne from December 2020 to October 2023. Peter's earlier experience includes a significant tenure at Boston Micromachines Corp from October 2011 to November 2020, where contributions involved redesigning high count MEMS deformable mirrors and developing a large aperture modulating retro reflector for optical communication. Before that, Peter worked as a researcher at the NSF Center for High-rate Nanomanufacturing at Northeastern University from 2002 to October 2011, inventing a novel electromechanical switch utilizing single walled carbon nanotubes. Peter holds an Interdisciplinary PhD in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University, completed between 2004 and 2011.
