Alan Knight

Alan Knight has extensive experience in sustainability and corporate responsibility across various organizations. From April 2014 to April 2021, Alan served as General Manager of Corporate Responsibility at ArcelorMittal, and previously held key roles such as Environment and SD Controller at B&Q and Head of CSR at Kingfisher. Alan was the Sustainability Director at Business in the Community and has contributed to the field as Chairman of the Global Association of Corporate Sustainability Officers. Currently, Alan holds the position of Group Director of Sustainability at Drax Group and Chief Sustainability Officer at WE Soda. Additional engagements include founding Single Planet Living, serving as an International Board Member for the Forest Stewardship Council, and acting as an Independent Advisor on Sustainable Development for Virgin Group. Alan also has academic experience as a Visiting Professor at the University of Exeter and has played a significant role in various sustainability initiatives throughout his career. Alan holds a PhD in Geology and Marine Biology from Royal Holloway, University of London.
