Gareth Johnson

Gareth Johnson is a geologist with over 15 years of expertise in energy geosciences, engineering, and sustainability. Currently, they serve as the Head of CCS Sustainability at Drax, where they lead efforts in establishing the sustainability framework for carbon capture and storage projects while collaborating with international advisory boards. Gareth held positions as a Research Fellow at the University of Strathclyde, focusing on geological engineering applications, and previously worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher with Scottish Carbon Capture and Storage. They earned a PhD in Geology with a focus on carbon capture and storage from the University of Calgary and a BSc(Hons) in Earth Science from the University of Glasgow.
