Gary Lowndes

Gary Lowndes is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in mechanical engineering and energy systems. Currently serving as Team Manager in Fuel Processing & Auxiliaries at Drax Group since October 2016, Gary has also held the position of Lead Engineer for Auxiliary Plant & Mills. Prior experience includes roles as Lead Mechanical Engineer at ENGIE and Technical Support Engineer at GDF SUEZ, with earlier positions at International Power and Lafarge Cement focused on mechanical engineering in various projects. Gary holds an MSc in Renewable Energy Systems Technology from Loughborough University, obtained in 2022, and a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Staffordshire, completed in 2001.
